North Woods Print sale info

hi,
if you're interested in picking up a copy of the regular edition of 'the north woods', **link removed, poster sold out**

i had a variant that was for sale at Roq la Rue, i believe that one is sold out. that one had a percentage of the proceeds going to charity. read more about that here.

but for full disclosures sake, no percentage of this regular blue edition sales will be going to charity.
its just a regular art print that is:

3 color / 18x24 on cream paper, edition of 210.

Q: What percentage of sales from this print are going to charity?
A: None. Other than taxes, which go to the government, which then gives money away to charities. I assume.

Q: What's the thought process behind this print?
A:  Life. Boats. Shark. Ghosts.

The North Wooooooooooooooods

Greetings. I was asked a few years back to do a piece for Roq la Rue Gallery's Unpredictable Gravity group show, a benefit for cancer charities. The show's title "Unpredictable Gravity" is a reference to the roller coaster of emotion that a family goes through after a cancer diagnosis. i said yes. and now, a few years later, a month after the show actually opened, i have something for it. talk about timing. and how poorly i manage mine.

a bit about the piece. the version for sale at the show will be this one:

Tyler Stout - "The North Woods" variant
18x24, 3-Color Screenprint
Edition of 85
$50

it will be available at Roq la Rue Gallery on Thursday, February 6th from 4-9PM.
one per address / cash only

the print will be sold to walk-ins only until February 8th.  any remaining prints will be made available for online sales at a TBD date/time.

regarding the details of how this works, the gallery has their charity that they will be giving 25% of the sales to, i have my charity that i will be giving 25% to, and then the gallery gets 25% and i get 25%. so, that's the breakdown.

info about the piece itself - its actually locations and buildings of seattle, i tried to somewhat capture the nautical feeling of this port city. thus the boat. there's a few inside meanings on the piece that i guess are personal to me, but i had the idea of cancer, recovery, remission, all that stuff on the brain, and tried to kinda paint that in a somewhat hopeful light.

the title is a slight, very slight reference to the book Walden. thoreau mentions 'the maine woods' and i guess i think of seattle as the north woods. since i am north of seattle, the pacific northwest. it made sense at the time. now its probably pretentious sounding. great. success.

the above print will only be sold at Roq la Rue, i will have the regular version for sale at a later time,

but if you're less of a blue fan and more of a grey fan, then the variant is the one to pick up.

i belieeeeve i have another print coming out fairly soon, so stay tuned for that info as well. at some point.

thanks again, tyler
