Avengers Regular Gold Ink

just a note on these avengers prints. i just started signing them today and noticed across the back of the regular edition there is a gold streak of ink, which sometimes happens during screenprinting. it doesn't bother me, or affect the front of the print, but i know it can be of concern for some buyers.

normally if it was just one or two i'd pull them out and keep them with my copies, but in this case, its over about 80% of the print run. the reason this happens is screenprinting can be kinda an industrial art, they are splashing ink here and there, ink flows off presses, and sometimes it streaks the back of prints. to me its just proof they were screenprinted, but some people might view them as damaged.

so, below are some pictures. if you think its something you can't live with, and you ordered a print, let me know, and i can refund you, no problem at all.

thanks again. -tyler

Silent Auction ends today (friday) at 12 PM PST (Pacific Standard Time).

How to participate: basically, pick a dollar amount you'd be willing to pay for this 3 print set, email it to xxx silent auction closed xxx, and the highest bid gets these 3 posters. after paying that price. how much should you bid? $3, $30, $300 -  totally up to you. but whoever bids the most, wins.

100% of the proceeds will go to charity, mostly to Randall Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center. I've already begun putting together a package for them of requested art supplies, and the money from this auction will go towards this package for them. If the money goes over 500ish then I will put the overflow money towards another organization, a hospice center called The Ray Hickey Hospice House. regardless, all the money will go towards charity, and i'll make sure i show receipts on a followup blog post, just so no one thinks i'm being scummy and stealing money.

SO, there ya go. enter your bid at this email - xxx silent auction closed xxx - if its the highest bid, i'll contact you and after paying will ship you these three prints.

Gigposters book preorder

preorders are closed
-----------------------------

As some of you know, i got my start doing alamo posters via gigposters.com - it's where rob jones first saw my fledgeling attempts at poster making and contacted me about doing stuff for the alamo. and while i love doing movie stuff, music posters are my original calling. and gigposters.com is a great resource and support system for music poster artists.

recently gigposters.com published a book, Gigposters 2, which I was honored to contribute to and have a page of my own. if you haven't purchased this handsome book, i will be selling copies for $30 plus shipping, which you can preorder here via a deposit of 10$. Once I have the books in hand you will be contacted for the remaining balance.

They're ideal gifts for people who like posters for bands in book form. plus they come with an artprint by landland, and i'll even throw in a handbill or patch or something of my own. something more than a sticker but less than an actual poster probably.

So, order today and support gigposters.com.

Surprise Birthday Gift

i got a pretty cool gift in the mail recently, completely unexpected. sarah thought i'd purchased another butterfly collection or something but instead it was a gift from a bunch of the people from the facebook page -  a framed version of mark englert's thing print - with a little drawing of what appears to be me, doing the infamous spider-head walk.

it looks like the frame is custom made as well, which is an additionally awesome thing. i don't have much on my walls in my studio so this will be a very cool addition. i'm not great at expressing emotions but i am very pleased to have this, and a little in shock as well. so, thanks to all for this very touching gift.

EDIT: so, finding out more about this amazing gift as time passes. turns out the frame was custom made by bryan henderson, who, along with another great fellow, adam stern, helped organize this whole idea. bryan did a really amazing job on the frame. from bryan - "My dad and I spent an afternoon building the frame - we built it from scratch using wood working tools, etc. Always a good excuse to spend time with him. My dad stained it by hand over the course of a week with I think about 4 layers of ebony oil along with a few layers of a polish. I have learned a few framing techniques by myself and incorporated them into putting your frame together. Needless to say, it has all the best components, and I hope it has a hand made look to it. I want to say it's the best frame I/we have ever made and put together."

so that is pretty amazing in itself. plus, i get a large paypal today from bryan, 700something dollars, to give to the charity of my choice. apparently its the left over contributions from people who wanted to pay for the print and frame job. pretty amazing, now i have to think of a worthy cause to donate this money to. i will try to document that process, just so people know i didn't spend it all on prometheus tickets. because it was that good. i don't care what people say, its just a fun time at the movies.

anyways, thanks again to everyone, its certainly something i'd never expect in a million years.
