Quad Vs Regular Let The Right One In

so i thought it was worth explaining how the quad version of "Let The Right One In" came about. the people that commissioned this print, All City Media, actually requested it to be quad sized from the very beginning, so that's how i designed it. it wasn't until i was done with it that my friend Mitch suggested 30x40 posters might be a bit expensive to ship, frame, print, etc. so i scaled it down to 24x36 and made that the main run.

but, 30x40 does not scale down to 24x36, so i tried a few different things to fill up that extra space. tried having a large black border, tried putting the type on the side. etc. nothing looked good. so finally i did what i hate doing, went back and changed the artwork that i thought was perfect. filling in the sides with more trees, spacing things out a bit, moving the characters apart a bit. i actually really like 24x36 version fine, but the 30x40 quad has the distinction of being the original design, so thats worth something as well.

so, there ya go. for those of you that picked up 24x36, you get extra artwork and a better framing solution. for those of you that picked up the quad, you get what i would consider the original vision for the poster. both are cool. i think.
